The New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) have issued a reminder that all Vehicles, Machinery and Equipment loaded from Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) contaminated countries (listed below) between 1 September 2018 until the 30 April 2019 will require mandatory treated as outlined in the previous seasons.
A new Import Health Standard is currently in the draft stage and we will advise of any charges if they occur.
The list of countries that will require treatment has been expanded and will now include the following:
This means that all Vehicles ,Machinery and Equipment will be required to be fumigated in New Zealand prior to release to prevent possible contamination of the BMSB
It is also on the understanding that in this new draft all cargo loaded from Italy will need to be fumigated regardless of the commodity . We are currently reviewing with our service providers on the possible cost per m3 for carego that moves via LCL
