Maersk Announce Schedule Change to OC1 ServiceDue to Vessel Delay With Spirit of Hamburg Voy. 015S

Maersk have announced that due to an earlier incident at Cartagena, the Spirit of Hamburg 015S on the OC1 service, has been further delayed on her departure southbound to Australia and New Zealand.  In order to limit cargo impact while ensuring the vessel recovers the delay, they advise the following contingencies;

  • Maersk Inverness 016S will omit Sydney and Melbourne to take the position of Spirit of Hamburg.
  • Spirit of Shanghai 017S will omit Timaru and Auckland to take the position of Maersk Inverness.
  • Olivia Maersk 018S will omit Timaru and Auckland to take the position of Spirit of Shanghai.

Under this change:

  • Maersk Inverness cargo ex Sydney and Melbourne to USA and Latin America would be relayed to connect with Maersk Inverness in Tauranga using the following 1st leg sailings:
    • bookings ex Sydney - Southern Star (Rio Negro 020N, ETD 19 May)
    • bookings ex Melbourne - PANZ (Brotonne Bridge 019N, ETD 12 May)
  • Spirit of Shanghai export from Timaru and Auckland to USA and Latin America will connect to the OC1 by feedering using the following 1st leg vessels:
    • bookings ex Timaru - Southern Star (Rio Madeira 018N, ETD 18 May)
    • bookings ex Auckland - Use AKL Metroport and connect in Tauranga
  • Olivia Maersk export from Timaru and Auckland to USA and Latin America will connect to the OC1 by using the following 1st leg vessels:
    • bookings ex Timaru - Southern Star (Rio Blanco 019N, ETD 25 May)
    • bookings ex Auckland - Use AKL Metroport and connect in Tauranga
  • Maersk Inverness 016S - Trans-Tasman cargo ex Tauranga will be re directed to the Spirit of Shanghai 017S.
  • Trans-Tasman bookings ex Australia to New Zealand would also be re-directed to the same sailings, calling Tauranga only.

The above reflects the latest planning at this time. Maersk will revert with a further update should any changes occur.

The contingency plan for Import cargo from USA and Latin America to Australia and New Zealand will follow.
