The APL England (Voy. 093), which lost 40 container overboard whilst on route to Melbourne from Shanghai (APL England Voy. 093S Loses Containers Overboard During Heavy Seas), has berthed at AAT terminal, a breakbulk terminal in Brisbane, yesterday afternoon.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority and the vessel owner are inspecting the vessel for damage to hatch covers and continuing to inspect for further container damage. We have been advised by the carrier that none of ACA International containers were lost overboard or have experienced any damage. If there is any update on newly reported damage from the shipping lines we will advise as soon as possible.
As of last evening the vessel owner advised it intends to continue with its voyage to Melbourne unless they determine its unsafe to do so. We will update as further news on the revised schedule comes to hand.
