APL England Update 1

The APL England (Voy. 093), which lost 40 container overboard whilst on route to Melbourne from Shanghai (APL England Voy. 093S Loses Containers Overboard During Heavy Seas), remains berthed at AAT terminal, a breakbulk terminal in Brisbane, 27 May.  The damage is still being assessed and it is not expected to be completed until at least this weekend.

Once assessment is completed and the damaged containers removed the vessel will move to DP World in Brisbane where all Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney bound containers will be offloaded.

Following departure from Hong Kong, Conti Courage(Voy. There are ongoing changes to other vessels on the A3 services to sort out the port rotation including:

  • COSCO Hong Kong changing port rotation Sydney then Melbourne to Melbourne then Sydney
  • OOCL Italy changing port rotation Sydney then Melbourne to Melbourne then Sydney

The above changes are a direct result of the APL England incident, however decisions on the vessel changes have been notified at very short notice.

We are working with the carriers to get a firm and complete understanding of all changes and the likelihood of any further changes and will update as soon as possible.
