As envisaged in our news alert earlier this week (ANL & CMA-CGM Follow MSC and Impose Port Congestion Surcharge in Sydney) two more carriers have advised that they will apply a Port Congestion Surcharge in Sydney.
Pacific Asia Express/PIL will implement a Sydney container congestion charge - export (effective 21 September 2020) and import (effective 1 October 2020) of USD 300 per TEU.
Hapag Lloyd has implemented a Sydney container congestion charge - effective immediately (16 September 2020) for all exports and imports for non-USA trade lanes of USD 300 per TEU. For the USA trade the surcharge will be effective from 16 October 2020. (Hapag-Lloyd - Sydney, Australia - Port Congestion Surcharge)
LCL providers will also apply a Congestion Surcharge.
The fee will be USD 13.50 w/m (minimum USD 13.50) and it is effective on 14 September for non-USA lanes and on 16 October for USA lanes. The LCL fees may change based on the carrier used and applying.
ACA International will pass on the surcharge where invoiced.
