Vessel Delay - SEAMAX STRATFORD 102N – Crew Members Test Positive to COVID-19

OOCL have advised that two crew members on board the SEAMAX STRATFORD 102N have tested positive to COVID-19.  The vessel has been berthed at Brisbane anchorage whilst serving up to 14 days quarantine.

According to Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ), seven new crew members joined the ship at Brisbane on Thursday having earlier flown in from Mumbai on 26 September.

They spent almost a week in quarantine before joining the vessel.

Queensland Health and MSQ were later informed that some of the crew had returned a positive COVID test.  The vessel was locked down, stevedores were withdrawn and the vessel was moved to anchorage.  Both crew members have been taken to hospital.

OOCL state that they are working with the authorities and stevedores and will advise further on rescheduling of its Brisbane discharge which is now listed as 17 October.

The vessel had already completed its calls into Melbourne and Sydney.

We will keep you advised as more information comes to hand.
