Significant constraints in Sydney are continuing to impact our ability to return empty containers directly after collection. This is resulting in additional cartage moves to store empty containers at our transport suppliers yards awaiting available time slots to return to the empty container parks.
We are working to avoid or minimise the impact of additional costs to you, our client.
This update from the Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA), an advocacy group which we are a member, outlines the work being done in both the short and log term to increase the cpapcity of the Port which, in part, is contributing to the delays (FTA News - Empty Container Park Issues – Sydney). Alas there is no short term fix for the 40,000 plus containers clogging the container parks in Sydney.
