Ports of Auckland is preparing for the partial automation of Fergusson Terminal at the end of February 2020. In preparation for the Go Live date it is crucial that they run a number of tests to ensure that Terminal systems and equipment perform as expected.
To perform some vital tests they require a 12 hour window to shut down Fergusson Terminal and have chosen an off-peak time when there is the lowest demand for both shipping and road receivals and deliveries.
On Wednesday 15 January, Fergusson Terminal will close from 1900 hours and re-open on Thursday 16 January 0700 hours to allow for the testing to take place. The last truck will be serviced through the gate at 1815 hours on 15 January (1700 VBS bookings).
An extra free day will be applied to all vessels affected by this outage for demurrage free time.
Hazardous cargo must be moved within the allowable time and reefer containers should be prioritised.
Multi Cargo Operations will not be affected.
